"Give me a thousand years and I will paint the sky!" The name of Ivan Marchuk and his works are etched in the history of Ukrainian art forever. Ivan Marchuk can turn ordinary everyday life into a theatrical scene, and in his paintings show the most intimate depths of being. At the same time, Marchuk is mysterious, he does not reveal his soul to the end, and his work itself is like a wary silence, a transitional state - as if before a big explosion. Ivan Marchuk is the founder of new styles in art, in particular "Plontanism" - application of paint with thin colored lines, their interweaving at different angles, thus achieving the effect of volume and glow. Such an image is practically impossible to repeat.
